Waterville, ME-The sixth-seed Castleton State College softball team saw its season come to an end with a 7-3 North Atlantic Conference quarterfinal loss to third-seeded Thomas College.
Castleton fell behind 7-0 as the Terriers plated three runs in the first, two in the second and one in the third and fourth. The Spartans battled back to score three unanswered, but it was not enough as the Terriers held seed and advance to the NAC Tournament this weekend.
Tosha Whittemore provided a two-run single in the sixth that plated Rachel Hunt and Cassie Koehne who had both reached by way of a single.
Trista Morin and Brittany Oxley each had two hits and two RBI for the Terriers.
Alicia Zraunig had one hit and one RBI as Castleton's season finishes up at 12-23 overall.
