DANBURY, Conn. – The Vermont State University Castleton women's lacrosse team fell to Western Connecticut, 26-4, in a Little East Conference contest on Saturday afternoon at The WAC.

How It Happened
The host Wolves set the tone early, scoring 11 goals in the opening quarter to take a commanding 11-1 lead after the first 15 minutes. WestConn continued to press the advantage in the second quarter, adding five more goals to head into halftime with a 16-2 lead.
Castleton continued to battle throughout the second half, finding the back of the net once in both the third and fourth quarters. However, WestConn maintained control offensively, scoring five goals in each of the final two frames to secure the 26-4 conference victory.
By the Numbers
- Megan Culp led Castleton offensively with a hat trick, scoring three goals on five shots while also collecting four draw controls and four ground balls.
- Phoebe Loomis added a goal for the Spartans and contributed two ground balls and three caused turnovers defensively.
