HENNIKER, N.H. – The Vermont State University Castleton women's alpine skiing team extended its undefeated streak in slalom with a win on Saturday at Pats Peak.
Emilie Stene captured first place with a time of 1:41.66, extending the program record with her 26th career victory.
Andrea Rodriguez finished third in 1:43.04 for her fifth podium result of the season.
Karleigh Hollister posted a collegiate career best fifth place finish in 1:44.52, moving from eighth after the first run to fifth after recording the fastest second run of the day.
Eva Young finished sixth in 1:44.80, and Ines Robres placed 14th in 1:53.70 for her season best performance.
Castleton won the team title with a combined time of 5:09.50, finishing ahead of Babson College in second (5:19.66) and the University of Connecticut in third (5:21.74). With last week's win, Castleton also clinched the MacConnell Division slalom title.
With one race remaining, Rodriguez and Stene are tied for first in the overall season standings with 500 points each. Young is fourth with 445 points and currently leads the giant slalom standings. Despite a DNF on Saturday,
Elisabeth Worster clinched the overall slalom title and ranks fifth overall.
The Spartans will compete in giant slalom tomorrow at Waterville Valley Resort.
