Castleton Sweeps Slalom Weekend at Proctor Academy

ANDOVER, N.H. – The Vermont State University Castleton women's alpine skiing team swept the weekend at Proctor Academy, capturing first place in slalom competition on both days. 

Elisabeth Worster led the Spartans with a second-place finish, posting a time of 1:33.94. She earned her second podium in as many days after winning the previous day and recorded her third podium finish of the season. Eliza Mullen finished third with a time of 1:34.33 to claim the first collegiate podium of her career. Mullen moved from sixth after the first run to the podium by recording the fastest second run of the day. 

Emilie Stene narrowly missed the podium, placing fourth in 1:34.42, while Eva Young finished fifth with a time of 1:34.65 to earn her third top-five finish of the season. Karleigh Hollister placed 10th (1:38.92), followed by Caitlyn Bumpers in 14th (1:43.25), Ines Robres in 18th (1:44.89), and Ellie Campbell in 27th (2:09.18). 

In the team standings, Castleton claimed first place with a combined time of 4:42.69, followed by the University of Connecticut in second at 4:50.40 and Clarkson University in third at 5:06.09. 

The Spartans will return to action Saturday, January 24, at Whiteface Mountain for giant slalom competition.
