How it Happened
UMD opened the contest with three goals before
Renny Cota could find the back of the net on a dish from
Brianna Paul to bring VTSU Castleton within 2, 3-1. The hosts scored six-straight before the Spartans scored again, this time it was
Hana Doria on the man-up from
Phoebe Loomis to make it 10-2 heading into the second quarter.
The Corsairs controlled the second frame, scoring four unanswered to own a 14-2 advantage at the half. Quarter three read much the same with the UMass Dartmouth owning both of the stanza's scores, up 16-2.
There were three scores in favor of the opposition to make it 19-2 with seven minutes remaining in the contest. Castleton posted one more goal before time ran out on the day, this time on a free position goal from
Bella Gale to make it 19-3.

Katie Stager made nine saves in the Spartans' efforts.

Castleton will return home on Friday, March 28 as it plays host to Keene State for a 5 p.m. conference contest.
