BEND, Ore. – The Vermont State University Castleton women's alpine skiing team had a trio of top-10 finishers to claim second place in giant slalom to open up the 2025 USCSA National Championships on Tuesday.
Alice Pomi notched her first USCSA National Championships podium finish in her first appearance, posting a combined time of 2:07.04 to take third place, after sitting fourth following the first run.
Andrea Rodriguez clinched a fifth-place finish in her first USCSA Nationals appearance with a combined time of 2:08.97, posting the second-fastest second run by .15 to move from 10th to fifth.
Emilie Stene finished out the Spartan's top-10 racers with a combined time of 2:08.97 to take eighth, with
Karleigh Hollister completing the field for Castleton with a time of 2:18.14 to finish 36th out of a field of 140.
Castleton had a combined team time of 6:24.13 to take second place out of 27 teams, trailing Rocky Mountain College by 2.03, who finished first with a team time of 6:21.11. Babson College finished third with a time of 6:38.30, and Clarkson University took fourth with a time of 6:38.47.
The women compete in slalom on Thursday, March 13 with the first run scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. EST.
