CHARLEMONT, Mass. – The Vermont State University Castleton women's alpine skiing team clinched the USCSA MacConnell Division title following a second-place finish in slalom at Berkshire East on Saturday, with one race to go.
Emilie Stene notched her 20th career victory, extending the program record and clinching the top spot in the overall individual standings, with a time of 1:37.01.
Ginevra Trevisan finished fifth with a time of 1:39.08, while
Karleigh Hollister finished 10th, and
Grace Porcaro 18th, completed the Spartans finishers.
The Spartans posted a combined time of 5:00.40 to take second, behind Babson, who took first with a time of 4:55.70, and Clarkson, who finished third with a time of 5:21.71.
The Spartans finish the weekend at Catamount in Egremont, Massachusetts today (February 9) for another day of slalom, and head to Sugarloaf next weekend for giant slalom Saturday and slalom Sunday.
