EGREMONT, Mass. – The Vermont State University Castleton women's alpine skiing team claimed second place in slalom at Catamount on Sunday. The Spartans have swept the podium in the MacConnell Division regular season standings, with
Emilie Stene in first,
Andrea Rodriguez in second, and
Alice Pomi in third.
Stene notched another first-place finish, posting a time of 1:47.17 with Rodriguez following right behind with a time of 1:47.91 to take second.
Grace Porcaro finished 14th with a time of 2:04.49, finishing the regular season ranked 21st.
Karleigh Hollister and
Ginevra Trevisan finish out the regular season rankings for Castleton in 12th and 15th respectively.
The Spartans finished second with a combined time of 5:39.57, behind Babson in first with a time of 5:38.94, while UConn took third with a time of 5:49.18.
The Spartans head to Sugarloaf on Saturday, February 15 for the USCSA Eastern Regional Championships, with giant slalom day one and slalom day two (February 16).
