MANHEIM, Pa. – The Vermont State University Castleton wrestling team has been tabbed ninth amongst the best teams in the country as the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) released its 2025-26 NCAA Division III Men's Preseason Coaches Poll and individual rankings Monday afternoon.
VTSU Castleton earned itself a top-10 spot following a strong showing throughout the 2024-25 season, which featured multiple wrestlers competing at the 2025 NCAA Division III National Championships. The Spartans collected 24.5 points as a team thanks to five wrestlers ranked in the top-15 of their respective weight classes nationally.
Gavin Bradley headlines at 125 pounds after his appearance at the NCAA Division III National Championships last season. He debuts at No. 3 in the 125-pound rankings.
Connor Gregory debuts at No. 6 in the 174-pound rankings after his first Nationals appearance last season.
Nathaniel Camiscioli and
Evan Day both debut No. 7 at 157 and 285 pounds, respectively, after both wrestlers appeared at the National Championships a season ago.
Drew Marchese rounds out the nationally-ranked wrestlers, debuting at No. 14 in the 133-pound rankings.
The Spartans also fared well in the Region 1 rankings, with Bradley (125) being tabbed first, Camiscioli (157) and Gregory (174) being tabbed second. Marchese (133) and Day (285) garnered third-place rankings, while
Josh Negron (197) and junior transfer
Gabriel Goss (149) earned fourth-place rankings.
Jashon Holmes (165) was tabbed fifth, while
Desmond McLaughlin (184) earned a sixth-place ranking.
The team opens the 2025-26 season this Sunday, November 2, at the Lycoming Invitational in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
