NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Vermont State University Castleton wrestling program was tabbed second in the 2025-26 New England Wrestling Association's pre-season team rankings.
Castleton's 91 points put them second in the team tournament pre-season rankings behind the strength of nine wrestlers ranked in the top eight in their respective weight classes. Coast Guard leads the rankings with 105 points, tabbed first, while Williams College sits third with 85 points. Johnson & Wales sits fourth with 78 points, while Springfield College rounds out the top five with 69 points.
The Spartans return the top-ranked wrestler at 125 pounds in
Gavin Bradley, who grabbed a win at the 2025 NCAA Division III National Championships. Castleton returns two second-ranked wrestlers at 157 and 174 pounds in
Nathaniel Camiscioli and
Connor Gregory respectively, both earned a win at the 2025 NCAA Division III National Championships.
Drew Marchese and
Evan Day return as third-ranked wrestlers at 133 and 285 pounds, respectively, each appeared at the National Championships last year.
Josh Negron returns as a fourth-ranked wrestler at 197 pounds, while transfer
Gabriel Goss was tabbed fourth at 149 pounds.
Jashon Holmes returns as the fifth-ranked wrestler at 165 pounds, and
Desmond McLaughlin returns as the sixth-ranked wrestler at 184 pounds.
