BRISTOL, R.I. – The Vermont State University Castleton wrestling team had three place-winners at the Scott Viera Tournament hosted by Roger Williams Saturday evening.
Kaya Bogle earned a second-place finish at 133 pounds, going 2-1 on the day. Bogle won his first match via tech fall before pinning his second opponent in 2:28. His only loss of the day was to Joziah Fry of Johnson & Wales via tech fall, 24-8.
First year
Keonta Crawford finished third at 285 pounds, finishing the day 4-1. Crawford won his first match via major decision 11-1 and pinned his second opponent in 4:38 before falling via decision to Jayden Toppan of Roger Williams. In his fourth match of the day he won via decision, 7-2, and won via medical forfeit in his final match of the day.
Logan Frank was the Spartans final place-winner of the day, earning a fourth-place finish at 197 pounds. Frank finished the day 3-2, falling via pin in his first match. He won over one of his fellow teammates in match two of the day by decision, before winning his next two matches via decision. In his final match of the day he fell 8-2.
The Spartans head to Johnson & Wales on Saturday, December 21 for the East Coast Duals, beginning at 10 a.m.
