WATERVILLE, Maine - Hilary Cooke (Marlborough, Conn.) registered her first hat trick of the season, and Courtney Chadburn (North Clarendon, Vt.) scored her 79th career goal, tying the program record for goals in a career as Castleton rolled to a 6-0 win over Thomas in North Atlantic Conference women's soccer action Sunday.

Just 2:32 into the contest, Sarah Ethier (Portsmouth, R.I.) put home what proved to be the game-winner, converting a Chadburn corner kick into her fourth goal of the season.

Chadburn scored her historic marker 12 minutes later, scoring unassisted. The goal ties the mark set by Amy Kittredge (Yandow) from 2003-05.

Kelsey Garceau (St. Albans, Vt.) scored her fifth of the season in the 24th minute, and Cooke made it 4-0 10 minutes before halftime off a Jenna Bostwick (Pembroke, Mass.) helper.

The game would remain 4-0 until the final two minutes of play, when Cooke put the finishing touches on the natural hat-trick, scoring unassisted and off a Chadburn assist.

Freshman goalie Katja Langmaid (Enosburg Falls, Vt.) made five saves to earn the shutout, while Kate Thibodeau (Woolwich, Maine) stopped 17 shots in the loss.

With the win Castleton improves to 10-4, and 5-0 in NAC play. The Spartans are now 20-0-1 in their last 21 regular season conference games, with all 20 wins coming by way of the shutout, outscoring their opponents by an emphatic 89-1 margin during that span.
