BANGOR, Maine - The Castleton State College women's soccer team played to a 0-0 draw with Husson University in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women's soccer action Sunday afternoon at Boucher Stadium.

The result pushes Castleton's record to 13-2-1 overall and 6-0-1 in conference play. The Spartans needed a tie or a win to wrap up the top seed in the upcoming NAC Tournament and their second-straight regular season title. Castleton is now unbeaten in its last 16 regular season conference matches, allowing just one goal since October 2008.

Husson goalie Rozlyn Peterson (Newport, Maine) slammed the door on seven Castleton shots while her counterpart Ericka Davis (Cambridge, Vt.) made six saves.

The high-scoring Spartan offense, ranked 10th in the country in goals per game had not been shutout since a 2-0 loss in the season-opener versus Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Both teams mustered 12 shots and six corners in the contest in a rematch of last season's conference championship, a game that Husson earned its fourth-straight NAC title.

Castleton will wrap up its regular season on the road at Fitchburg State on Thursday at 7 pm.
