CASTLETON, VT- The New Jersey Athletic Conference on Tuesday released its Players of the Week. Spartan linebacker Tyler Buxton (Middlebury, VT/Middlebury) was named the Defensive Player of the Week.

Buxton had seven tackles on Saturday in Castleton's 29-7 win over Westfield State. His biggest play of the day came in the third quarter. Owls' quarterback Quinn Sumner was stripped sacked by Brendan McMahon and Buxton picked up the loose ball and ran 33 yards into the endzone. It was Buxton's first career touchdown.

Buxton and rest of the Spartans travel to Norwich Saturday for the annual Sap Bucket Game. Game time is at 12:00 p.m.
