SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.- The Vermont State University Castleton field hockey team went on the road on Tuesday to face Skidmore. The Thoroughbreds won by the score of 8-1.

How It Happened
Skidmore got four shots off to start the first quarter. The Thoroughbreds scored less than five minutes in to lead 1-0. Castleton would answer back just over a minute later as Peyton Richardson (Windsor, Vt./Windsor) assisted Mackenna Roberson (Hoosick Falls, N.Y./Hoosick Falls Central) on the goal. Skidmore scored for the second time at 8:53.
The Spartan defense held off the Thoroughbreds for the majority of the second quarter. Skidmore scored with 1:13 left in the period to go into halftime ahead 3-1.
Skidmore scored once in the third quarter to go up 4-1. The Thoroughbreds tallied four more goals in the final quarter.
