How it Happened
Castleton matched the Beacons goal-for-goal through the first seven minutes of play. After UMass Boston opened with a pair of tallies, Liam Evarts put the Spartans on the board at 10:58 in the first. Carter Frankenhoff followed just 50 seconds later to even the score at 2-2.

Taysean Metz added a goal at 7:07, and Frankenhoff struck again shortly after to bring the contest level at 4-4 midway through the opening quarter.

UMass Boston used a late first-quarter run to create separation, but the Spartans continued to find offense in each of the final three periods. Metz recorded his second goal of the night in the second quarter off an assist from Preston Kozlowski.

In the third, Frankenhoff netted his third of the game before Evarts connected with 1:41 remaining in the frame, finishing a feed from Frankenhoff. Castleton closed out its scoring in the fourth quarter with back-to-back goals from Frankenhoff, giving him four on the night.

Frankenhoff led the Spartans with four goals and one assist on 10 shots. Metz and Evarts each finished with two goals apiece. Kozlowski added an assist.

Finn Maniaci made 24 saves in goal, playing all 60 minutes for Castleton.

The Spartans will return home on Saturday, April 11, as they host Mass. Maritime for a 4 p.m. Senior Day contest.
