KEENE, N.H. – The Vermont State University Castleton baseball team was tripped up in Tuesday's Little East Conference match against Keene State as the Owls took a 15-4 win in eight innings.

How it Happened:
The Owls took an early 1-0 lead at the bottom of the first, before adding two more runs to the board at the bottom of the fifth as both sides were on par defensively.
Justin Strozyk put the Spartans on the board at the top of the sixth, with a two-run home run for his fifth of the season as Castleton trailed 3-2.
Keene added to the lead in the bottom half of the inning with a single and a grand slam to extend the lead to six (8-2). Castleton stranded one runner at the top of the seventh, while the Owls added two more runs to the lead (10-2). Castleton added two more runs at the top of the eighth as
Carter Dickinson reached on a fielder's choice and then advanced to second on a throwing error, which allowed
Alex McClelland and
Tommie Shaw to score, cutting the lead to six (10-4). Keene ended the game at the bottom of the eighth, with a single to bring in two runs, a run scored off a passed ball, and a two-run home run to walk it off in eight innings for a 15-4 win.
Top Performers:
- Strozyk led the Spartans with two RBIs, as four other Spartans, including him, notched one hit each.
- Kyle Wilson and Carter Chapman earned two strikeouts each through five combined innings.
