PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Madison Gould was named Little East Conference Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season following a strong week for Vermont State University Castleton. 

In the team's 3-1 week, including a key LEC sweep of Eastern Connecticut, Gould went 2-0 with a 2.50 ERA across 14 innings pitched. Against Eastern Connecticut, Gould earned the win in the opener, tossing a complete game three-hit shutout with eight strikeouts and no walks, helping the Spartans hand the Warriors their first loss in league play as they moved into first place in the LEC standings. 

Earlier in the week, Gould also earned a win in a league outing at Keene State. She improved to 8-1 on the season with the two victories. 

Castleton returns to action on the road against Plymouth State in a Little East Conference doubleheader scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
