COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Vermont State University Castleton field hockey team had 13 student-athletes are among the more than 1,800 named to the 2025 NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad.
The NFHCA
National Academic Squad program honors undergraduate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher through the fall semester, nominated by their NFHCA member coaches.
Upperclassmen
Sierra McDermott,
Amber Muniz and
Emerson Stamp earned their third consecutive placement, while
Jess Smithson,
Madison Gile,
Gwyn Vincent,
Ava LaRoss,
Mackenna Roberson and
Emilee Higgins made their second consecutive appearances.
Making their first appearances were sophomores
Brooke Noble,
Kylie Rogers,
Lauren Bascom and rookie
Ellie Campbell.

The NFHCA will release the Scholars of Distinction list on February 13. The program recognizes undergraduate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the current academic year.
