PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Kara Boassaly of the Vermont State University Castleton women's ice hockey team was named the Little East Conference Women's Ice Hockey Goaltender of the Week for the week ending January 5, 2026.
Boassaly played a large part in the Spartans' 2-0 weekend, helping her squad claim the 2026 Bagley Invitational title.
Castleton took down Anna Maria 1-0 on Friday evening before holding off Worcester State University for a 3-2 win on Saturday.
The Ottawa, Ont. native pitched a 13-save shutout in Friday's victory before adding 19 saves against the Lancers on Saturday. Boassaly earned Tournament MVP honors after recording 33 saves and two victories, allowing just one goal in 119:50 of action. She wrapped up the weekend with a .970 save percentage and a 0.51 goals-against average.
Boassaly and the Spartans will return to conference action on Friday, as they are set to host the Cadets of Norwich University in a 4 p.m. LEC matchup.
