CANTON, N.Y. – The Vermont State University Castleton men's golf team battled through wind and rain to open its season in round one of the St. Lawrence University Fall Invite on Friday.

How it Happened
All five of the VTSU Castleton golfers participated in their first collegiate rounds of golf in the SLU Fall Invite.
- Cam Reid spent a majority of the day one under par for second place, eventually finishing tied for 19th with 78 and three birdies.
- Also tied for 19th after 18 is first-year Sam Knight, who was six over par early and hung on to finish with a 78.
- Sitting in 25th is Reid Myers, who struggled with wet greens early, but hit the ball well for three birdies and an 80.
- Dylan Roebuck was able to battle back from a rough start to score a 92 through 18, sitting 62nd.
- Rounding out the Spartans in 70th is Avvi Tanasiyenko with a 99.

Castleton is set for round two of the SLU Fall Invite on Sunday with tee off scheduled 8:30 a.m.
