Golf Finishes Up Fall Season: Knight and Reid Named All-Conference

REDDING, CONN. – The Vermont State University Castleton men's golf team concluded its Fall Season on Friday afternoon, placing sixth at the Little East Conference Championships, just three stokes off of fifth and four off of fourth. The Spartans had two All-Conference placements.

The Basics
  • Position: 6th of 6 Teams
  • Team Score: Round 2 – 349 (709)
  • Course: The Redding CC – Redding, Conn.

How it Happened
  • Sam Knight knocked seven strokes off his first round score to claim First Team All-LEC honors as he tied for fifth place with a score of 80 with two birdies and eight pars.
  • Also earning a conference nod was Cam Reid with his Second Team placement as he tied for eighth place. Reid shot a 84, dropping two strokes off his first round score.
  • Reid Myers maintained his 19th place effort, going 23-over on day two (94).
  • With a large improvement on day two was Tommie Shaw who had a second round score of 91, dropping eight strokes off of his game. Shaw finished 26th.
  • Rounding out the Spartans was Dylan Roebuck who placed 30th with a 99.
