Chloe Green notched her first collegiate goal Wednesday night as the Vermont State University Castleton women's soccer dropped a tightly contested matchup against in-state rival Norwich, 2-1.
The Basics:

How it Happened:
- The first half was quiet on both sides of the field, with Castleton putting up three shots and Norwich four, while both Emma Ezzo and Michaela Dubey of Norwich posted three saves.
- The second half started with a shot high from Norwich before the Spartans broke through, with Maggie Parker finding Green off a long throw-in, giving Green her first collegiate goal at the 52nd minute.
- The Cadets shot back in the 76th minute, off a throw-in as well, to tie the game at one.
- With less than 15 minutes to play, the Spartans found themselves with a corner kick opportunity, but could not capitalize on it, allowing Norwich to take the ball down to their half of the field.
- The Cadets nailed the game-winning goal in the 85th minute, securing the 2-1 win.
By the Numbers:
- Green scored her first collegiate goal, and Maggie McKearin led the Spartans with two shots on goal.
- Ezzo posted six saves across all 90 minutes of play.
