CASTLETON, Vt. – The Vermont State University Castleton women's tennis team dropped a tough Little East Conference match against Rhode Island College Friday afternoon, falling 7-0.
The Anchorwomen swept all three doubles matches, securing the doubles point as
Stella Forte and
Madelyn Nonni fell 6-0 at the top spot.
Ginny Trevisan and
Andrea Rodriguez dropped their match at the second spot 6-1, and
Devon Kibbey and
Olivia Rutkowski fell 6-2 at the third spot.
In singles play, Nonni and Kibbey were both swept 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 and No. 5 respectively and Forte fell 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1. Trevisan dropped her match at No. 3 6-3, 6-0 and
Sophia Hussak fell 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4. Rodriguez finished out singles play at No, 6, falling 6-3, 6-2.
The team heads to Russell Sage College on Sunday, September 28, in a rescheduled match, now set for 1 p.m.
