ALBANY, N.Y. – The Vermont State University Castleton women's tennis team swept Russell Sage College, 7-0 on Sunday, without dropping a single set.
 
In the third spot at doubles play, Devon Kibbey and Olivia Rutkowski blanked their opponents 6-0, while Stella Forte and Madelyn Nonni took down their opponents at the top spot, 6-1. At the second spot, Ginny Trevisan and Andrea Rodriguez earned a 6-2 win.
 
In singles play, Forte and Rodriguez earned 6-0, 6-0 wins at No. 1 and No. 6 respectively and Rutkowski took a 6-0 win in the first set and won the second due to a forfeit at No. 5. Trevisan earned a win at No. 3, 6-1, 6-0 and Nonni beat her opponent 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2. Kibbey had the closest match of the day at No. 4 taking a narrow 7-5 win in set one and a 6-3 win in set two.
 
The Spartans head to Western Connecticut on Saturday, October 4, for a Little East Conference match, set for 1 p.m.
