PROVIDENCE, R.I. –
Paige Cargill of the Vermont State University Castleton women's soccer team snagged the Little East Conference's Rookie of the Week honors following her best week to date, scoring her first career goal and earning her first two career assists against MCLA.
In the Spartans' 5-0 win over MCLA, Cargill found herself wide open just outside of the box and blasted a shot between the keeper and the left post for her first goal as a Spartan. She assisted on two of
Maggie McKearin's goals, setting up the corner kick pieces and finding McKearin's head both times, giving her a career best four points. Against Eastern Connecticut, she registered one shot in Castleton's 2-0 loss.
The Spartans host New England College tomorrow (September 23) for a non-conference game with kick off set for 4 p.m.
