Spartans Finish Up Castleton Invitational

RUTLAND, Vt.. – The Vermont State University Castleton men's golf team finished up the Castleton Invitational on Sunday afternoon, after being delayed by frost. Castleton took home the top team spot while Cooper Bertrand of Norwich was the top individual.

How it Happened
  • Sundays' score marks the Spartans' lowest single round score of the season, thus far.
  • Starting the day off in third, Cam Reid struggled early, going seven-over through the first six holes. Reid was able to settle in on the remaining nine, going par throughout to finish tied for sixth with a two-round score of 155, 81 on the day.
  • Mounting a second-round comeback was Sam Knight who shot an 84 on Saturday, before knocking eight strokes off his game to finish day two with a 76. He finished tied for 10th.
  • Also having a strong second round was Reid Meyers who shot his best round of the season with a 76. Meyers finished tied with Knight for 10th.
  • Dylan Roebuck struggled on the front nine after a few rough bounces saw him with a 46, but he was able to battle back for a 43 on the back nine to shoot 89. This is Roebuck's first time under 90 this season.

The Spartans will hit the road on Thursday as they head to New Hampshire to take part in the Keene State Invitational, taking place at the Keene Country Club.
