MANSFIELD, Conn. – The Vermont State University Castleton men's soccer team dropped its Little East Conference match at Eastern Connecticut State Saturday afternoon, falling 2-1 as
El Hadji Iba Sy notched his first goal as a Spartan.

How it Happened:
- The Warriors jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in the first minute, and continued to dominate possession for the remainder of the first half, outshooting the Spartans 9-1.
- As the first half came to a close, the Warriors tacked on another goal in the 42nd minute, taking a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.
- Castleton went to work in the second half, outshooting the Warriors 8-2, before breaking through in the 82nd minute.
- Sy came down the field, sending a ball through to Jacques Alfani, who sent the ball back toward Sy, who was able to get a shot off as he was falling down for his first goal as a Spartan, cutting the Warriors' lead in half.
- For the final eight minutes of the game, neither team held onto possession long enough to score another goal, leaving Eastern Connecticut with a 2-1 win.
