Women's Soccer Comes Up Short Against Engineers

CASTLETON, Vt. – The Vermont State University Castleton women's soccer team hosted RPI Wednesday night in its home opener, narrowly falling 1-0.

  • In the 43rd minute, the Spartans let up a foul in the box, giving the Engineers a penalty kick opportunity, which was missed high, keeping the score even at zero.
  • As the second half got underway, the Engineers snuck a ball past the Castleton back line, taking a 1-0 lead in the 49th minute.
