How It Happened
Castleton got on the board early with a Peyton Richardson score with 13 minutes remaining in the first quarter to take a 1-0 lead. It took 11 minutes for the visitors to respond, scoring on a penalty corner to tie the game 1-1 heading into the second stanza.

First-year Ellie Campbell recorded the Spartans' second goal of the contest—the first of her collegiate career. Campbell's tally put Castleton up 2-1 with three minutes remaining in the half.

The visitors tied the game 2-2 after a Khushi Saini penalty stroke just three minutes into the third quarter. With 55 seconds remaining, RPI was dealt a green card that would carry over into the final period of play.

Again benefiting from a penalty corner opportunity, the Engineers went ahead for the first time on a Grace Johnson goal, taking a 3-2 lead with under 10 minutes to play. Despite the Spartans' best efforts, they were unable to mount a strong offensive push, falling 3-2.
