PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Vermont State University Castleton men's soccer program was selected to finish fifth in the Little East Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll that was announced Wednesday morning. The poll is voted on by the head coaches of each of the LEC's nine men's soccer teams.
Castleton received 31 points, behind Eastern Connecticut with 40, Rhode Island College with 51 points and one first-place vote, Western Connecticut with 56 points and two first-place votes, and UMass Boston, who took first place with 62 points and six first-place votes.
Last season, the Spartans finished 7-7-5 overall and 3-5-1 in conference play, falling in the first round of the LEC tournament to Rhode Island College in overtime.
Keene State sits right behind Castleton with 30 points in sixth, followed by Southern Maine, Plymouth State, and UMass Dartmouth. The complete 2025 LEC Men's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll is as follows.
