CASTLETON, Vt. – The Vermont State University Castleton athletic department continues to celebrate the academic success of its student-athletes during the 2024-25 academic year. The men's basketball program earned the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award, with five players named to the NABC Honors Court, while the men's lacrosse team had two players selected to the NEILA All-Academic Team.
The NABC Team Academic Excellence Award recognizes men's basketball programs that finish the academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court honors junior, senior, and graduate student-athletes who achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher during the 2024-25 academic year.
Castleton's NABC Honors Court honorees include Conner Mckearin, Crisrael Lithgow, Isaiah Francis, Justin Schwarzbeck, and Will Radcliff.
In men's lacrosse, Zac Smith and Liam Lovering were named to the NEILA All-Academic Team. To qualify, a student-athlete must be a senior or graduate student who has exhausted their athletic eligibility during the 2025 season, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, and be a starter or significant contributor on the field.
These honors highlight the dedication of Castleton's student-athletes to achieving success both academically and athletically.
