Liam Evarts kept the Spartans competitive throughout the contest.

How it Happened
Utica jumped out to a commanding 5-0 lead in the opening quarter, paced by a strong performance from Ryan Considine, who tallied two goals and an assist in the early stages. Castleton found the scoreboard in the second quarter when
Cam Frankenhoff netted an unassisted goal at the 10:46 mark. However, the Pioneers responded with three consecutive goals, extending their lead to 8-1 by halftime.
Castleton showed resilience early in the third period as
Liam Evarts connected with
Cam Frankenhoff to cut the deficit to 9-2. After another Utica goal,
Cam Frankenhoff added his second goal of the game, once again unassisted, to make it 10-3. Utica would score two more times before the quarter ended, stretching their lead to 11-3.
The Spartans continued to battle in the fourth quarter, starting with Evarts scoring off a
Carter Frankenhoff assist to bring Castleton within seven.
Hunter Sarro added a goal with 7:22 remaining to make it 12-5. Despite the late surge, Utica closed the game with three unanswered goals to seal the 15-5 win.
