POTSDAM, N.Y. – The Vermont State University Castleton women's basketball team earned its third straight win on Wednesday night, in a road match against Clarkson University, taking a 62-46 win.

How it Happened:
The Spartans jumped out to a 17-10 lead in the first quarter behind seven points from
Stasia Epler through the first 10 minutes of play as the offensive end put the pressure on Clarkson.
Emily Adams found herself with 10 points in the second frame, scoring half of her team-high 20 points.
Maggie McKearin grabbed two rebounds in the second quarter, as she tied the team-high of seven through all 40 minutes of play.
Coming out of halftime, Castleton did not let up the offensive pressure, and
Arianna Coombs scored the first nine points for the Spartans through four minutes of the third quarter. Castleton continued to capitalize on turnovers by the Golden Knights with five points off fast breaks in the third frame.
The Spartans outscored Clarkson by one in the final quarter, as Adams drained a jumper and a free throw, and Epler drained a three-pointer with seven minutes left to play. The Golden Knights scored the final three points of the game with just under two minutes left to play, as both teams locked in on their defensive ends.
By the Numbers:
- Adams put up a season-high 20 points, with three rebounds and one steal.
- Schuylar Nolan and McKearin grabbed seven rebounds each, as Nolan dished out a team-high five assists.

The team returns to Glenbrook Gym on Tuesday, November 25, for a midweek in-state matchup with the Panthers of Middlebury, set to tip off at 1 p.m.
