CASTLETON, Vt. – The Vermont State University Castleton field hockey team ended its regular season with a Senior Day loss to Husson University at home on Saturday, 6-0.

How It Happened
In an opening period that was all Eagles, Castleton was able to hold them scoreless for 10 minutes before ultimately letting up a score. The Spartans blocked two shots while
Zoe Martin made one save to keep them in the game, 1-0.
Castleton found its offensive footing to kick off the second quarter as
Madison Gile registered the team's first shot on goal to open, followed up by a
Jess Smithson shot that was stopped on a defensive save. 59 seconds later Husson put up its first of three goals in the period. The visitors owned a 4-0 lead at the half.
The third quarter was much like the third as Castleton opened with two shots on goal before Husson controlled the ball offensively. The lone difference was that the hosts were able to hold the visitors scoreless, thanks to three saves by Martin.
The Eagles finished the day with two scores, the last coming in the 55
th minute, claiming a 6-0 victory.
