CASTLETON, Vt. – The Vermont State University Castleton men's soccer fell 4-1 to Little East Conference opponent Rhode Island College Saturday night.

- Both teams stood strong through the first half as the Anchormen fired off nine shots, with four corner kicks, while Castleton took six shots with three corner kicks in the first 45 minutes as both teams searched for the back of the net.
- Rhode Island struck three minutes into the second half, taking a 1-0 lead in the 48th minute.
- The Spartans did not let that lead slow them down, as El Hadji Iba Sy found Jacques Alfani, who fired off a shot, finding the back of the net in the 53rd minute for his first goal of the season, tying the game.
- The Anchormen fired back in the 68th minute to take a 2-0 lead as they began to challenge Castleton's back line with two corner kicks in a row, before finding their third goal of the game in the 76th minute.
