ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Vermont State University Castleton women's soccer team walked away with a 1-0 victory at Bard College in Wednesday's midweek, non-conference match.

How it Happened:
	- Bard earned the first corner kick of the game in the first minute, but could not convert, allowing the Spartans to take the ball down the field for two corner kick opportunities in the seventh minute, but were unsuccessful.
- For the remainder of the first half, Castleton saw four more corner kick opportunities but was unable to convert, while Bard saw one more corner kick but also could not convert, leaving the first half tied at zero as the Spartans were outshot 7-5.
- As the second half began, Castleton badgered the Raptors' back line, firing off four shots in the first 20 minutes.
- In the 77th minute, Maggie Parker took a free kick, finding the head of Maggie McKearin, who was able to sneak the ball by the keeper, giving the Spartans a 1-0 lead as time started winding down.
- In the final 10 minutes of the game, Bard put up three shots to try and tie the match, but Emma Ezzo and Castleton's back line stood strong, securing the 1-0 win.
