CASTLETON, Vt. – The Vermont State University Castleton men's soccer team drew a hard-fought 0-0 tie against Westfield State Monday night.

How it Happened:
- Castleton's back line came in clutch throughout the first half, with Wyatt Robbie blocking a critical fast break in the 27th minute, not allowing the Owls to make a move toward the goal.
- In the 31st minute, the Spartans blocked another opportunity for the Owls, keeping the score even at zero heading into the second half.
- Jacques Alfani registered the first shot for Castleton in the 47th minute, but it was blocked by the Owls' defensive line.
- Xander Berthiaume came up clutch with four big saves following Alfani's shot to keep play even.
- In the 64th minute, Robbie came up strong again, making a clean slide tackle to force a corner kick opportunity for Westfield.
- In the 78th minute, Sean Butler took a free kick opportunity just outside of the box, but was stopped by the Owls keeper.
- Berthiaume made two more vital saves before the final whistle, preserving the 0-0 result for Castleton and holding Westfield State scoreless.
