JOHNSON, Vt. – The Vermont State University Castleton women's tennis team swept in-state foe Vermont State University Johnson, 9-0 Thursday afternoon.
In doubles play,
Madelyn Nonni and
Ginny Trevisan earned an 8-2 win at the No.1 spot, with
Stella Forte and
Olivia Rutkowski earning an 8-1 win at the No.2 spot.
Alice Pomi and
Andrea Rodriguez took their fourth doubles win of the season at the No.3 spot with an 8-2 win.
In singles play, Forte won the first flight 6-0, 6-0, while Nonni won the second flight 6-1, 6-0. Flight three saw a 6-0, 6-0 win from Trevisan, and at flight four
Sophia Hussak earned an 8-3 win. Rutkowski won 6-1, 6-0 at the fifth slight, and
Alice Pomi earned her first career singles win at the sixth flight 6-0, 6-0.
The Spartans are back at home on Saturday, September 28 against the University of Southern Maine at 1 p.m.
