BOSTON, Mass. – The Vermont State University Castleton women's tennis team dropped its conference matchup against UMass Boston, 7-2 on Tuesday evening.
Ginny Trevisan earned a three-set singles win at flight three 3-6, 6-4, 11-9 to give the Spartans their first point of the day. At the sixth singles flight,
Pearl Bellomo won 7-5, 6-1 to give them their second point of the day.
At flight one for doubles,
Stella Forte and
Madelyn Nonni dropped their match 8-2 and at flight two Trevisan and
Olivia Rutkowski dropped their match 8-1. Rookies
Alice Pomi and
Andrea Rodriguez fell 8-6 at flight three.
In singles play, Forte fell at flight one 6-0, 6-0, Nonni fell 6-0, 6-2 at flight two, and Rutkowski fell 6-2, 6-1 at flight three.
Devon Kibbey fell 6-3 in the first set at flight five before retiring for the second set.
The Spartans are back in action on Thursday, September 26 at Vermont State University Johnson at 4 p.m.
