Maggie McKearin scored the lone goal in Saturday's contest, with an assist from fellow forward
Alexis Billings to give the Spartans the victory over the Anchorwomen. The duo has now combined for four goals and 10 points in their last two games played.

VTSU Castleton and Rhode Island College battled in each team's first Little East Conference matchup of the season. The two teams matched up evenly on both sides of the ball with RIC taking a one shot advantage over the Spartans, 10-9.

Castleton's defense stood strong over RIC by preventing any of the Anchorwomen's 12 corner kick opportunities slip by them.

Lauren Fotter highlighted the Spartans defense with multiple interceptions and lockdown plays that helped generate momentum for Castleton. Junior
Emma Ezzo made five saves, including an acrobatic save in the 60th minute to keep the Anchorwomen scoreless and give Castleton their first LEC win on the year.
