CASTLETON, Vt. – The Vermont State University Castleton women's tennis team dropped the first match of their Homecoming Weekend doubleheader to Plattsburgh State, 7-0.
In doubles play, the Cardinals notched two of the three matches to earn the doubles play point.
Stella Forte and
Madelyn Nonni dropped their match at the one spot, 6-4. At the second spot
Ginny Trevisan and
Sophia Hussak lost their match 6-3.
Alice Pomi and
Andrea Rodriguez won their match, 6-4 at the third spot.
In singles play, Forte, Nonni, Trevisan and Hussak all dropped their matches.
Olivia Rutkowski dropped her match at the fifth spot 6-0, 6-1.
Devon Kibbey dropped her match at the sixth spot, 6-3, 6-0.
The Spartans are back in action for the second game of their Homecoming Weekend doubleheader tomorrow against WestConn at 1 p.m.
