NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – The Vermont State University Castleton women's soccer team defeated MCLA 4-1 Wednesday evening.
VTSU Castleton picked up where they left off over the weekend and continued their offensive run with another four goal performance against the Trailblazers. Kicking things off was junior
Maggie McKearin in the 14th minute, who dangled her way past the defenders and put one past the keeper on a tough angle to give Castleton the early lead.

Rylee Pepin extended Castleton's lead in the 20th minute with a solo effort goal to notch her first of the season and put the Spartans up by two. Junior
Emma Ezzo started in net for Castleton, making two saves and keeping a clean sheet at the end of the first half.
The Spartans dominated the game on the offensive side, outshooting the Trailblazers 26-10 with 16 shots on net. Senior
Alexis Billings, who was named LEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, extended her streak to four games with a goal in the 51st minute to put Castleton up 3-0.
In just under a minute after Castleton's third goal, Billings fed a ball to McKearin to bury her second of the game and fourth of the season to put Castleton up 4-0. First year
Ella Hall made her debut in the second half of the game, making four saves on five shots contested.
The Spartans return to action this Saturday, September 21 at 4:30 p.m. for their first LEC matchup of the season against Rhode Island College.
