PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Vermont State University Castleton women's tennis team fell 9-0 to Rhode Island College on Saturday afternoon.
The Anchorwomen (6-0) swept all three doubles matches to begin the day.
Stella Forte and
Madelyn Nonni were at the one spot, falling 8-0, while
Sophia Hussak and
Ginny Trevisan were at the two spot, losing 8-1.
Pearl Bellomo and
Devon Kibbey finished out the doubles matches at the three spot with an 8-0 loss as well.
Forte lost 6-2, 6-2 in the first singles spot, and Nonni lost 6-0, 6-0 at the second spot. At the third spot, Trevisan dropped her singles match 6-0, 6-0, as did Hussak at the fourth spot. Kibbey dropped her singles match at the fifth spot, 6-1, 6-3 and Bellomo fell 6-1, 6-0 at the sixth spot.
The Spartans (2-3) are back at home on Friday, September 20 against Plattsburgh State at 4 p.m.
