The Engineers struck first, with Abby Peterson netting a goal one minute into the frame. The Spartans responded with two minutes left in the half when Peyton Richardson netted her third goal of the season on an assist from Smithson, sending the game to halftime tied at 1-1.

Castleton scored first in the second half, with Arianna Spiezio scoring her first goal as a Spartan five minutes into the third quarter from Emily Downing. They extended the lead to 3-1 before the end of the third quarter, with rookie Ava LaRoss scoring her first career goal.
