Women's Soccer Bested by Keene State

CASTLETON, Vt. – The Vermont State University Castleton women's soccer team suffered a 5-0 loss to Keene State on a chilly Wednesday night at Dave Wolk Stadium.

The Spartans (1-8, 0-3) tallied three on-target darts as Alexis Billings shot two and Becky Hannwacker added one. Between the posts, sophomore netminder Emma Ezzo snatched up six shots.

Keene State (4-2-3, 1-0-2) was powered by Riley Devine who tallied the contest's first two goals en route to a hat trick. Alexa Skinner's 21st-minute strike allowed the Owls to enter halftime with a three-goal advantage, while second-half scores by Devine and Kinsey Donegan iced the visitors' first league triumph of the 2023 campaign.

VTSU Castleton looks to right the ship on Saturday, September 30 as they host Eastern Connecticut State. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
