Women’s Soccer Falls at WestConn

DANBURY, Conn. — The Vermont State University Castleton women's soccer team dropped its second Little East Conference contest at WestConn, 3-0, Saturday afternoon.

The Spartans (1-7, 0-2 LEC) put six shots on goal with three coming off the foot of Alexis Billings. Megan Ezzo, Maggie McKearin, and Emma Patrissi each tallied one apiece while goalkeeper Emma Ezzo saved eight WestConn (2-3-4, 1-0-1 LEC) attempts.

Suzana Imetovski and Myah Croze found pay dirt in the opening minutes as Sophia Onek struck in the 11th minute, putting the Wolves in front early. Ezzo saved the next six shots she faced, but WestConn keeper Gracen Regan held off the VTSU Castleton offense to preserve the hosts' 3-0 advantage for three points.

The Spartans return to Dave Wolk Stadium on Wednesday, September 27 to challenge Keene State. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
