CASTLETON, Vt. – The Vermont State University Castleton men's soccer team narrowly fell to Little East Conference foe WestConn, 1-0, at Dave Wolk Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Seth Dube logged the Spartans' (3-5, 1-1 LEC) lone on-target shot while the Wolves (5-1-2, 1-0-1 LEC) sent 11 attempts toward the net. Andres Soto-Burgos notched 10 saves, the graduate student's season high and his top career mark against league competition.
WestConn fired 20 total shots by 13 different players, but Jeffrey Norales' first career strike in the eighth minute was enough for the defending regular season conference champions to take three points in LEC standings.
The Spartans head to the Granite State on Wednesday, September 27 to battle Keene State. Kickoff against the Owls is at 6:30 p.m.
