PLYMOUTH, N.H. — The Vermont State University Castleton women's tennis team was topped by Plymouth State, 7-2, in Little East Conference play Wednesday afternoon.

The Spartans (3-8, 1-5 LEC) were bested in each doubles set, but Camille Jackson/Ginny Trevisan battled well with five games won at the second slot.

Trevisan claimed a big 6-3, 6-2 singles victory over Elena Cardoso at the third slot. Jackson notched a fourth-flight point against Sarah Asciutto, posting a pair of 6-2 sets. However, the Panthers (4-3, 2-2) collected four singles triumphs with five donuts to tally a home-court league win.

VTSU Castleton is back on home court this Saturday, October 7 against Salem State. First serve is at 1 p.m.
