BEVERLY, MASS – Vermont State University Castleton field hockey fell to Endicott Wednesday night, 6-2.
The Gulls offense carried most of the momentum throughout the match, producing 53 shots to Castleton's 16. Despite the loss,
Zoe Martin provided 16 saves for the Spartans.
Endicott's' Tori Swanson netted one early in the first to open the scoring. Martins' effort in the cage was able to keep Castleton in the game for most of the match. Late in the fourth, first-year defender

Emily Harris to bring the Spartans within one. This was Adriaens' first career point.
Shortly after Harris' goal, Swanson went on to score her second goal of the game to extend the Gulls lead, 3-1. In the final minutes of the game, Endicott would continue the offensive pressure with three goals in three minutes. Harris would also go on to score her second of the game and crack the 30-goal mark this season.
VTSU Castleton is back in action Friday, October 6 at Dave Wolk Stadium against Western Connecticut at 6 p.m.
